Location: the hotel was close enough to battlefields in Belgium and Somme, Lille city centre and the shopping outlets at Roubaix and Marcq-en-baroeul, on the outskirts of Lille. We stayed in a standard queen room with a private safe, a sofa bed, and central heating.

Though everything was good, some of the staff were average.

I recently stayed at Mercure in Marcq-en-Baroeul for a few days and it was fantastic. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, with a tram station just across the road, making it easy to get to Lille Centre in just 15 minutes. The beds in the room were massive and very comfortable. I also loved the modern and clean atmosphere of the hotel, with plenty of spaces to relax, play games, or read books. The breakfast options were great, with both a smaller express breakfast and a full buffet available. And a bonus was the beautiful terrace by the river, where they had a bar/bistro set up. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff were very friendly and the express breakfast was a super option as a business traveller who didnt want to eat a large breakfast.

We had a fantastic stay at Mercure. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for our needs. The secure parking provided peace of mind for our vehicle. Our family room was spacious and comfortable, and we enjoyed the lovely terrace where we could dine on delicious food from the restaurant. Plus, the coffee was great! The value for money was excellent, and the hotel's proximity to public transport made exploring the city easy. It was especially nice to have a peaceful escape from the noise and crowds during the bustling braderie. We would definitely book again, thanks to the fantastic experience we had at Mercure.

Friendly staff. Excellent food in the bar, with reasonable prices. Good beer selection although curiously not French. Rooms were well above average and the fitness facilities clean and well maintained, which seems to be rare these days. Would go again.

Sensational breakfasts, polite staff.

Quiet accommodation with unbeatable setting close enough to the 'gastronomie' restaurant, the local shopping mall and the outskirts of Lille. Newly remodelled & modern room, a mini-refrigerator, coffee, and air conditioning in there. Exceptionally comfortable beds, PARTICULARLY NICE views.

Many things to mention - everything was clean, excellent food, nice views. The room was air conditioned, the bed was big, great-sized bathroom. The location was magnificent and absolutely perfect, hard to find with byzantine street layout in the area. Had soft drinks in the outdoor bar in the evening.

Nothing could have been better.

Enjoyed our time at the Mercure, the staff were very helpful and spoke English well and were happy to assist us with travel plans. The room was clean and well presented. There is a tram stop outside that takes you right into the city. We would recommend this hotel. A very pleasant stay.

The standard of the bed and pillows were excellent. The staff at reception wre particularly friendly and helpful - far better than I would have expected from a French hotel!

The mechanism for draining the bedroom sink was hidden under the the marble top, and not at all evident because there was no knob on the stalk. A poor design feature. We had to call th reception to find out how to pull the plug out. This was in room 325. Also I did not like the fact that we had to pay to access the internet. We have just come back from America where this is a free offer everywhere.

The location in a calm area just outside the town center was perfect for us. We were able to easily park our car right outside the hotel and the tram line was conveniently located nearby. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, from room service to dry cleaning and housekeeping. We were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink upon arrival and the tours and ticket assistance offered by the hotel made it easy for us to explore the city. The room amenities were top-notch, with ironing facilities, heating, air conditioning, and tea and coffee facilities. The mini-bar was well-stocked and the terrace with garden furniture provided a lovely place to relax. The soundproofed rooms ensured a peaceful and restful night's sleep. We also appreciated the complimentary toiletries and the electric kettle in the room. The flat-screen TV and carpeted floor added a touch of comfort to our stay. The dining options at the restaurant were excellent, and we enjoyed the convenience of in-room breakfast and the bar/lounge area for a nightcap. The snack bar and special diet menus catered to all our needs. The staff, particularly the waiters, were friendly and attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout our stay.

We highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It provides enhanced comfort and quality services, making it an ideal choice for a luxurious stay.

Large and very calm room Excellent restaurant

Booked `Superior Room` which was larger with added bonus of free mini bar, coffe & tea making machine. Also fluffy bathrobes and slippers and good complimentary toiletries. We atr in restaurant on one evening and used the bar which was very good. The staff were extremely friendly. Found the breakfasts very good also. I made good use of the small gym. The location was excellant with tram stop right at the front door. Only 20 mins into centre of Lille. The area was picked as my daughter lives here so it was very convenient and on her doorstep!! Another plus was the free car park and easy access to the motorways. (Although on arrival we missed the correct turning off motorway and took ages to locate hotel.) We will be staying here again.

Great service and amenities, convenient location

Stayed here for a business trip and really enjoyed the experience. The service was exceptional with friendly staff who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The breakfast was also top-notch, with a great selection of fresh food and cooked-to-order options. As for the location, it was perfect for me as it was close to the highway and made travelling around the area a breeze. the free parking was a huge plus.

The limited options for dining. While the on-site restaurant was decent, there weren't many other dining options in the immediate area.
